The 140 mile long Waccamaw River enters South Carolina and flows across Horry County, past Conway. This slow moving blackwater river runs close to Highway 90, just a few miles east of downtown Conway and connects with a little known small lake named "Tilly Lake". It is at the "edge" of Tilly Lake where the new home community of River's Edge Plantation in Conway resides.

River's Edge Plantation is located in a very convenient location near the intersection of Highway 90 and International Drive. Back in 2018, the International Drive road construction project was completed - resulting in a nearly six mile long newly paved 4 lane highway that now connects to Highway 90 and Highway 31. Since this International Drive project has been completed, the travel options around the area have been greatly improved and Highway 90 has become a significantly more attractive area to reside as a result. River's Edge Plantation is one of several new home communities that have been recently completed and/or are currently under development off of Highway 90.
